Stirling Rowing Club is a club of mixed abilities ranging from complete beginners to the Worlds Vets champion and Scottish Junior champion
We're also mixed age groups from the juniors club which has about 40+ juniors, aged 12-18, student members from 18-23 and the seniors which has about 35+ members in it ranging from early 20's to 50's and 'even more' seniors from 50's to 70's.
We train on a Tuesday evening from about 6:30pm till it gets dark, and again on Thursdays too.
When the clocks change we find we can't get out onto the river in the evening so we to do circuit and ergo (indoor rowing) training to keep fit.
We also train on a Sunday mornings at 9.30am till about 1pm. Sundays never stop and we train through the winter and the only Sunday we don't go out is Christmas or New Year, otherwise we're out there unless there is a hurricane.

Several other clubs use our facilities regularly to train so there's always lots going on !

Stirling University Boat Club row & train here on Saturdays from 2pm to about 4.30pm, Monday & Thursday mornings from 7am to 9am and Wednesday afternoons from 2pm to 4.30pm

The Royal Navy row and train here on Thursdays from 1pm to approx 3pm

Scottish Junior / Scottish Schools head at Dullatar - 1st Oct 2016

We had Lindsey, Rory, Ben, Isla and Eleanor all competing in their first head race.
Eleanor and Isla came 2nd in W Ju14 2x with a time of 15:04 only 19secs behind the winner (quite a narrow margin considering the length of the course) and only 24secs sloer than Freya Glasgow Schools WJ18 2x.
Rory and Ben in Ju 14 2x were off to a fantastic start looking like they had could have finished top in their category. However, the steering unfortunately broke and they got wedged in the bank. I believe Rory's dad even jumped in the canal to free them (Is that true ??).
Lindsey fought well in W J18 1x overtaking a couple of scullers. She finished 3rd last in her category with a time of 16:58. In her words she was pleased not to come last. J18 is a very tough category and Lindsey is now competing against people seeking places at World Junior Championship.

Clyde 3k Head everyone's first time racing on Clyde (excluding Graeme and Gregor H):

Div 1:
Natalie, in her first head race, coming 2nd in W R2 1x with a time of 12.04.
Lindsey got 3rd in W Nov 1x with a time of 12:38 behind the girls that got silver and bronze at Scottish Champs in Novice sculls.
Rory performed very well coming 2nd in J15 1x (after getting bumped up 1 age category as he was only J14 entered) with a time of 11.25.

Div 2:
Natalie and Lindsey with a well-deserved win in W R 2x with a time of 11.15.
Rory and Ben got bumped up from J14 2x to J16 2x and fought well beating a J16 2x with a time of 11.07
Isla and Eleanor got another 2nd place with a time of 11:49 getting beat by a Clydesdale crew who were on their home water.
Graeme and Gregor H got second in M R2 2x with a time of 9.47

Div 3:
Ross, Graeme, John Dunse (SPRC) and Gregor H, got 3rd overall and 3rd in Men's Open quad in a time of 8:45. Narrowly getting beat by Billy's Castle Semple composite quad by 6secs.
